About Me

I am an artist, mover, explorer, coach, and educator, creating work informed by all of these facets. I am a muralist and sculptor, seeking to connect my love of movement with my love of visual art. I believe in the power of play to connect, teach, and grow humans, whether through physical or visual play. This belief guides my work; it often taps into whimsy and curiosity, with bright colors and bold shapes, and interactive elements. Ultimately, the goal of my work is to widen viewers’ perspective, and inspire and invite them to engage with the world around them in a unique way.

Bio

My background is in both art and teaching, with a degree in Art Education. I started my career in the educational field, writing and teaching art curriculum to preschool, pre-k, and Kindergarten students. After 2 years of teaching, I began searching for ways to expand my personal practice and explore my passions for both art and movement.

I found the change I was looking for in an opportunity to coach parkour, teaching movement to children and adults. Parkour is a physical discipline that explores moving through your environment in efficient and creative ways. I love how parkour completely shifts your  perspective of the world around you.

While my degree centered around Fine Metals and jewelry, in recent years my interest has shifted from creating wearable art to creating interactive and movement related art. I am drawn to Murals and sculpture as kinetic, larger scale, and interactive forms of art that have the potential to be in public spaces. Both relate to my love of movement and creating interesting spaces for it. I explore the connections between art, movement, and play through interactive sculpture and installation work.

Mission

My mission is to create art that invites exploration, inspires wonder, and engages people in some form of interaction – whether mental, physical, or interpersonal.
